Description

Cheshire Ribbon manufactures two type of woven sleeving.

‘E’ Type filament twisted glass fibre yarns

Fine Uniform textured ‘E’ type glass fibre yarns

Glass sleevings woven from ‘E’ type filament twisted glass fibre yarns are inorganic, sterile, non toxic and incombustible. They are resistant to oil solvents and most chemicals and have a low level of leachable chlorides and fluorides. They are suitable for temperatures up to 550 ° C and have low thermal conductivity. The Lytlleton softening point is 820 ° C. For automotive applications the tapes are produced to specified diameters with a very high degree of consistency. Appearance and properties of the sleevings may be enhanced by laminating.

Glass sleevings woven from uniform textured filaments of high bulk ‘E’ type glass fibre yarns differ in that they are extra soft, thick and pliable with superior insulation properties.

Applications

Sleevings made from twisted glass fibre yarns are a suitable solution for covering and protecting cabling and wiring in domestic, industrial and particularly automotive situations.

Sleevings made from uniform textured filaments are suitable as thermal insulation to pipes, the protection of personnel and to minimise heat loss. Weavelock finish can be applied to minimise ‘fly’ in cutting.
