Ceramic Rope Lagging
- HIGH TEMPERATURE INSULATION
- SUITABLE FOR UP TO 1260˚C
- ASBESTOS REPLACEMENT
- LIGHT WEIGHT
- EXCELLENT CORROSION RESISTANCE
Ceramic Rope Lagging is made from a ceramic blanket which consists of blown ceramic fibres. The lagging is a light weight, resilient, high temperature material with low thermal conductivity. It is resistant to thermal shock and has excellent thermal stability, low heat storage and excellent corrosion resistance. It also resists attack from most corrosive agents with the exception of hydrofluoric acid, phosphoric acid & concentrated alkalis.
Maximum temperature of the ceramic core is 1260˚C. If glass braiding is used however the braiding will melt at approximately 550˚C. The rope will continue to function so long as it is contained. If wire braiding is used it can withstand continuous temperatures up to approx 1100˚C.
Applications
Ceramic rope lagging is particularly suitable for forming into insulation rings and seals on industrial and domestic heating appliances. Ceramic rope lagging provides an efficient method for insulating pipework and is also suitable for a variety of high temperature sealing and caulking applications.
Ceramic rope lagging is available in a wide range of different diameters.
