Description
Glass cloth sleeving is made of glass cloth manufactured from continuous filament glass yarns. The base cloth is non-reparable, light, soft, and has excellent pliable qualities. If required we can supply aluminised glass cloth, which is made using a highly reflective impervious surface of aluminium foil is bonded to one side of the cloth. The fabric can be used satisfactorily at temperatures up to approximately 550 ° C, but at temperatures greater than 150 ° C the adhesive used to bond the foil to the cloth begins to break down and separation of the two materials may occur. However, once in position, stitching and buttoning are usually suffice to hold the foil and the glass together. This aluminised foil finish is intended for static rather than flexing application.
Applications
Glass cloth sleevings (aluminised) are a suitable solution for covering and protecting cabling and exhaust systems in industrial and particularly automotive situations.
