Sleeving Jackets
Exintex manufacture a wide range of sleeving jackets to improve:
- Insulation of conductive heat sources like the hot metal of pipe and exhaust components
- Protection against extreme temperatures or ‘Molten Splash’
- Reflection of heat away from components
- Protection against water, oils, solvents and other liquids
Our sleevings are manufactured from a wide range of specialist materials.
Graphite Impregnated Fibreglass Cloth
600°C Continuous 1000°C Short Term
The graphite impregnation improves abrasion and flexibility at high temperatures. The material is black in colour and is considered more aesthetically pleasing than most standard E – glass sleevings on the market
Graphite Impregnated Silica Cloth
950° Continuous / 1500°C Short Term
Made from amorphous silica, these sleevings are graphite coated and silicone treated to create an abrasion resistant product capable of withstanding short term temps up to 1500°C and continuous temps up to 950°C.
Extreme Temperature E glass Cloth
Variable Continuous / 1500°C Short Term
Made from a high temp inorganic, flexible, chemically treated e-glass fabric. This product is designed more for protection against molten splash or extreme but brief periods of very high temperatures. Continuous temperature resistance depends on the severity of the heat and the application the sleeving is subjected to.
Aluminium Laminated E glass Cloth
550°C Base Cloth
The aluminium lamination is heat / pressure applied ensuring the highest level of adhesion thus reducing the chance of crack and peel. The lamination acts as a heat reflection as well as being resistant to solvents and liquids. This products reflects heat away and insulates heat within.
Aluminium Laminated Silica Cloth
950°C Base Cloth
This cloth has the same principle functions as E - glass laminated cloth but instead is made from silca which is capable of withstanding temperatures as high as 950°C.
Silicone Polymer Coated Fibreglass Cloth
350°C Coating / 550°C Base Cloth
The water resistant silicone polymer coated sleevings are used in many marine applications where the sleeving might come into contact with water or high levels of moisture in the air. Not suitable for automotive exhaust headers.
Our sleevings can be ‘stitch’ sealed using Kevlar®, Nomex® or stainless steel sewing thread or alternatively, made with a high temperature hook and loop fastener for easy application.
Exintex can manufacture sleevings in weights ranging from 600gm/m2 to 2000gm/m2.
